Kentrol Door Mirror Kit

Kentrol Inc. is a company that makes and distributes Jeep accessories made from stainless steel as well as body parts and replacement bodies for Jeeps from 1945 – 2006.  This includes one piece fiberglass front ends as well as replacement grilles for CJ, TJ and YJ Jeeps from 1955 – 2006.  These one piece front ends and grilles are actually officially licensed by the Chrysler Group LLC.

Door Mirror Kit

These mirrors are made to fit the half door hinges that have been tapped and drilled.  They are made from polished stainless steel that is grade T – 304.  They will also fit stainless steel hinges made by Kentrol with part numbers 30469, 30441 and 3020.  These are the same size as the OE mirrors. 

So, why should you buy these stainless steel mirrors made by Kentrol?  You will find that not all products made with stainless steel are the same.  The products that Kentrol makes are made from what is known as virgin metal which is also called 304 surgical stainless steel.  Stainless steel of this type will not rust.  It is also easy to take care of.  Just wax it occasionally and the mirror finish will look like new.  In addition, all of the Kentrol products come with hardware that is also made from stainless steel.

Mirror Kit

This mirror kit is for the Wrangler CJ and YJ with a model year from 1955 – 1995.  These mirrors are also made from the virgin metal stainless steel and require no drilling which means that you get a hassle free installation.  That said, only the Wrangler YJ with 30403 windshield hinges will be able to use this kit.  This kit is NOT compatible with factory YJ hinges.   

While there is no drilling required for the installation of these mirrors, there are brackets that are included for mounting the mirrors to your windshield hinges.  The driver’s side arm will mount to the outside of the Jeep.  On the passenger side, the mirror arm will mount on a more forward position enabling you to look out the windshield to see down the entire side of your Jeep.

This kit will work with the factory windshield hinges on the Wrangler CJ.  On the Wrangler YJ, you will need to get Kentrol part number 30403 hinges in order to mount the kit on your Jeep properly.
